Russian Blue

Description- The cat is medium sized and muscular. When they are running you can see that they have a long neck but is covered by fur. The coat is lavender at the base and darkening to the tip of the cats hair. As a kitten their eyes are yellow and by the time they are four months there is a bright green ring around the pupil. 

 

History- It is believed that they originated from Russia and because of the double coat they believe that they lived in colder climates. The Russian Blue first come to America in the 1900's. It is believed that the British sailors brought them from the White Sea port town in northern Russia.

Interesting fact- Some Russian Blues are born with "ghost stripes" which are faint marks that disappear as the kitten matures.
