Discription: Needs a lot of grooming to keep skin moisturized. Sphynx are bald ,wrinkled, and potbellied. The head is a modified wedge shape, slightly longer than it is wide, with prominent cheek bones, large ears, large lemon-shaped eyes, and whiskers and eyebrows are sparse nonexistent. As they grow their wrinkles smooth out.
Size: medium-size, 6 to 12 pounds
Life span: 8 to 14 years
Coat color and patterns: Suedelike coat. Colors: white, black, red, chocolate, lavender, various tabby patterns, tortoiseshell, calico, bi-color, and pointed and mink patterns.
History: A genetic mutation brought about the birth of a hairless kitten. Born in mid- to late 1970's. The gene for hairlessness is recessive. Originally known as Canadian Hairless Cats.
